On August XNUMXth (Sat) and XNUMXth (Sun), the All Japan Solar & Human Power Boat Race Tournament XNUMX was held at the Working Youth Water Sports Center in Hekinan City, Aichi Prefecture.

At our school, we participate in this tournament by designing and manufacturing boats mainly for students of the Department of Commercial Shipping.

It rained heavily the day before the race, but it was a hot and sunny day, and thanks to the newly designed and manufactured propellers, we were able to complete all the races without any trouble.

As a result of the race, the performance of the new propeller was good, and I was able to set a new self-record of 7.89 knots, and I achieved a wonderful result of "Student division overall victory" as last year.

In the future, I would like to expect the challenge of setting new records with ideas and creativity that are unique to college students.

This tournament is a handmade boat race promoted using solar power or human power, and the tournament is held every year by the Japan Solar & Human Power Boat Association.There are three types of competitions: XNUMXm speed race, XNUMXm lap race, and XNUMX-hour endurance race. Not only the speed of the boat, but also the durability and maneuverability of the boat itself are required.
