Open Campus 2024 (held in August) was held

　An open campus was held at Toba National College of Maritime Technology on Friday, August 6th and Saturday, August 8th, 9.

　This year, we introduced Toba National College of Maritime Technology to the participants by holding a two-part tour of the school and a tour of the department of their choice, in the morning and afternoon. In addition, to allow the participants to experience the college's classes where they learn specialized skills, the Department of Maritime Technology held hands-on courses on ropework, steering, and ROV operation, while the Department of Information and Machine Systems Engineering held hands-on courses on programming and machine learning. Participants who visited the Department of Maritime Technology commented, "It looked difficult, but I was glad that I was able to do it after being taught," "I thought it was interesting to see the large and various machines," and "I was impressed that they even made their own parts," while participants who visited the Department of Information and Machine Systems Engineering commented, "The research I saw today looked very interesting," and "I participated in the open campus because I was interested in systems that support farmers. I learned about the various initiatives and was glad to hear about the specific details."

　There was also a dormitory information session for students from far away and a tasting of the cafeteria, which was well received last year, to introduce Toba National College of Maritime Technology outside of academics. Participants who toured the dormitory asked questions such as "How are the rooms assigned?", "How do you spend your days off?" and "Is there a curfew?", to which faculty and students answered by sharing their own experiences. Participants who sampled the cafeteria commented, "I was surprised at how filling the menu was. It was very delicious."
