第54回全国高等専門学校体育大会陸上競技が、8月17日（土）・18日（日）に、エディオンスタジアム広島で開催され、本校から男子走高跳に出場した畠田寛大君（電子機械工学科3年）が、2m01cmの自己新記録で見事優勝しました。インターハイ3位の近大高専本田君のエントリーは、なかったものの、畠田君を含めて、3名が2m以上の自己記録を持つハイレベルな競技会を制しました。

2m01cm is the standard participation record for the 10th U35 Japan Championships in Athletics to be held in October (the top 18 of the standard record breakers can participate).Hatada is expected to play an active role not only in technical college competitions but also in domestic top-level competitions of the same generation.
