Eco Balance 6 was held at the Sendai International Center in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture from Sunday, November 11rd to Thursday, November 3th, 7, and Ryo Koyama, a second-year student in the Department of Production Systems Engineering, and Yuta Kosaka, a first-year student in the Department of Production Systems Engineering, gave presentations.
EcoBlance is an international conference hosted by the Japan Life Cycle Assessment Association, and is known as a conference attended by members of academia, industry, and government. The conference discusses environmental performance assessment, disclosure of information on assessment results, and the development and implementation of methods, and this year's conference was held under the theme of "Life Cycle Thinking: Beyond Carbon."
Mr. Koyama gave a poster presentation titled "Growth prediction by oceanographic data in oyster cultivation," in which he reported on observations and analyses using oceanographic observation equipment jointly developed by his laboratory, and mentioned that as a demonstration example, they were conducting observations and analyses in areas where oysters are cultivated.
After the conference, Koyama said, "I learned a lot from EcoBalance2024. I was able to talk to people researching in similar fields, and hear about challenges in different fields, and I learned things that I would not have known otherwise. I would like to review what I learned this time as I move forward with my future research."
