Toba National College of Maritime Technology will establish a new Advanced Information Engineering course (capacity 40 students) in the Department of Information and Mechanical Systems Engineering, with the aim of cultivating talent who excel in the digital field, with information engineering as the major subject of the National College of Maritime Technology MCC (Model Core Curriculum) starting with students entering in XNUMX.
Features of the Advanced Information Engineering Course
(1) The Advanced Information Engineering course will develop talented individuals who excel in specialized digital fields with information engineering as their major. It will cover a wide range of topics, including generative AI, cybersecurity, digital transformation, data science, and digital manufacturing.
(a) We deal with a wide range of topics, with generative AI, cybersecurity, DX, data science, and UI/UX/design as the main focus.
(b) Students will be involved in PBL projects from their first year onwards, and as a feature of our school, we will develop projects in areas such as smart fisheries and agriculture, GX, and maritime and marine digital transformation.
By providing a diverse environment for students to interact with IT industry engineers, students can acquire the experiential knowledge to think independently and create new value through team organization across grade levels.
It combines advanced information skills with the ability to think critically, to deal with conflicts and dilemmas, and to act responsibly.
(c) We will provide individual booths and discussion spaces where people can concentrate in a networked learning environment, not limited to classrooms.
(2) In order for students to become engineers with international communication skills, they will be given priority in participating in overseas training and international exchange programs at our school. In addition, they will be able to receive support for part of their travel and living expenses.
Establishment of special selection for training advanced information engineers
With the establishment of the Advanced Information Engineering course, we will identify talent with an interest in advanced science and technology at an early stage and provide problem-solving education from the pre-enrollment stage. In order to implement a systematic educational program that will lead to educational activities after enrollment and to develop engineers who can play an active role with leadership skills, we will implement a new special selection system called the "Special Selection for Developing Advanced Information Engineers."
The following courses and presentation opportunities will be provided for candidates who plan to apply for the Special Selection for Advanced Information Engineer Training.
(a) Problem-solving learning (Public lecture: Problem-solving with microcomputer programming [micro:bit])(August 8th, 20nd, 22rd)
We offer programming courses as a problem-solving style of learning, where students can learn techniques for solving everyday problems using microcomputers and other devices.
*For those who are planning to apply for the Special Selection for Advanced Information Engineer Development, please prepare the slides to submit."micro:bit lending list"The equipment at is available for rental.
If you would like to borrow, please follow the steps below.
1) First, please contact the Student Affairs Section of our school (Admissions Division:gakusei-nyushi☆Please contact us by email at (please replace "☆" with "@toba-cmt.ac.jp").

(B) U16 Programming Contest(February 9)
He will present his devised system at the "U16 Programming Contest Mie Tournament" hosted by our school.
You can get advice and counseling.
Note: (a) and (b) are not mandatory requirements for application. Instead, you will go through a process (experience solving problems through programming) and explain the content.
If it's something you can do, there's no problem.
In addition, you may explain based on your experience in contests other than the Mie U16 Programming Contest.
Example: U16 Pro-Con (held in 17 regions nationwide), PCN Children's Pro-Con (nationwide), etc.
We envision a programming contest targeted at junior high school students.
Pre-admission learning for successful applicants to the special selection for advanced information engineer training program
After passing the entrance exam and before enrolling, students can use holidays, winter break, spring break, etc. for pre-enrollment study with the advice of our school's faculty and students to brush up on the work they explained in the Special Selection for Training Advanced Information Engineers, and improve their knowledge, skills, and problem-solving abilities.
An information session was held regarding this course and the selection process (May 5, 27, and 30).
